1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body
What we do with our bodies matters a great deal to God. Even if you are not concerned with glorifying God with you body there are consequences and influences that are not merely physical. I encourage everyone to not always assume or take things at face value. It is wise to research and ask questions. Just because you are not aware of something doesn’t mean it doesn’t apply to you. If you get pulled over for breaking a law out of state that you did not know existed you are still experiencing the consequences of your actions. In the same way, if you expose yourself to spiritual and/or mental harm unknowingly they will have an affect on you and you may not even realize it. YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW, meaning, you could be doing something to harm your body (or worse your soul) on regular basis and not know – simply because you didn’t know.
Hosea 4:6 (NASB) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
Yoga is one of the most popular forms of exercise in America, for instance. The vast majority of people know nothing of it’s origins or the consequences of practicing it. Add meditation, mystical alternative health practices, and even Zumba to the mix, and we have a lot of reading and thinking to do. I believe some things are harmless to one individual and counterproductive or even unwise in some instances for a different individual. Now, I also believe that some things are “what they are” no matter who is involved or why they participate. These are in fact my thoughts, so I encourage everyone to love yourself and treasure your body as the precious gift it is.
Steward it well. Be informed, not offended.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Philippians 1:9-10 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;
I personally have been blessed tremendously by the testimony and excellent program of Laurette Willis’ Praisemoves. We should not have to compromise our integrity to be physically fit. In fact, our physical activities should support our mental and spiritual goals and standards. Be lovely AND true!

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize?Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
